NOTODDEN, Norway  —  Alissa Johnson led the American field in this season’s Continental Cup (COC) opener in Notodden, Norway, with a 3rd-place finish on Friday and 4th place on Saturday.

Teammates Abby Hughes snagged back-to-back 9th place finishes, Nina Lussi a solid 16th and 14th, and Emilee Anderson bounced back in Saturday’s competition with a COC career-best 17th place after a DNS in Friday’s event.

“It felt good to be back on the podium,” Johnson said. “Now I am just working on taking some of these good results and bringing them to the World Cup with me.”

The International Ski Federation’s COC circuit is one tier below the World Cup circuit. Local Norwegian favorite Anette Sagen won both Notodden events, with teammates Gyda Enger taking 2nd both days and Anne Odine Stroem 3rd on Saturday.

Johnson, Hughes, and Lussi will join Visa Team members Jessica Jerome and Lindsey Van for next weekend’s World Cup event in Hinterzarten, Germany.
