Women’s Ski Jumping USA welcomes Gary Crawford to the new position of Director of Sport Development

PARK CITY, Utah  — Along with USA Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined, Women's Ski Jumping USA is pleased to welcome long-time coach and ski sport builder Gary Crawford to the new position of Director of Sport Development. Crawford will focus his energy on the development of the next generation of US athletes in ski jumping and nordic combined.

Crawford was selected from among a prestigious group of applicants due to his extensive experience in motivating young athletes in the sports of ski jumping and nordic combined, and in building community engagement around these sports. Crawford, a two-time Olympian (1980, 1988, Nordic Combined) with more than 50 years of winter sports experience, will be responsible for recruiting and retaining athletes, as well as supporting ski jumping and nordic combined clubs across the nation. Key goals include growing and strengthening these sports, increasing visibility of the sports, and ensuring athletes develop both athletic and life skills through participation and training.

Crawford assumed his position in late July. The program is a joint funding project of the USA Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined and Women's Ski Jumping-USA.
