Lake Placid, N.Y.—U.S. Visa Women’s Ski Jumping Team member Tara Geraghty-Moats of West Fairlee, VT took the top spot on the 90K New Years Master Ski Jump competition in Lake placid on December 29, 2014 with jumps of 97.0 and 92.5 meters under clear skies. Hendrickson takes 4th and 5th place at Continental Cup in Notodden, Norway

Notodden, NOR – Sarah Hendrickson placed 4th and 5th in the first Continental Cup competition of the 2014/15 season. Under cloudy Norwegian skies, Hendrickson, 20, achieved jumps of 92.5 and 88.5 meters in her two jumps on Friday, December 12. She maintained this consistency and high performance on Saturday, December 13, with two jumps of 91.5 and 90 meters.

Lillehammer, NOR -- The U.S. Visa Women’s Ski Jumping Team had a very respectable showing today in  Lillehammer, Norway at the first World Cup competition of the 2014/15 season. Sarah Hendrickson of Park City, UT, the current World Champion, finished 9th by improving her first 89-meter jump with a strong second jump of 96.5 meters. Jessica Jerome, also of Park City, finished 11th, improving upon her first jump of 87 meters with a second jump of 92.5 meters.

Sarah Hendrickson Comes Back with Vengeance to Secure Podium Finishes at Continental Cup

TRONDHEIM, NORWAY – In her first event since the Sochi Olympics, Sarah Hendrickson, 20, secured second place finishes at the Continental Cup in Trondheim, Norway on both Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28, 2014 with jumps of 92.5 and 100.5 meters respectively. Her team-mates on the USA Visa Women’s Ski Jumping Team also performed well in competition. On Saturday, Nita Englund came away with a ninth place finish, with Tara Geraghty-Moats and Nina Lussi finishing in 11th place and 13th place respectively. On Sunday, Englund improved her standing with a sixth-place finish, while Geraghty-Moats held steady at 11th place. Lussi finished in 18th place on Sunday.

Nita Englund Secures Podium Finish at FIS Cup

FRENSTAT, Czech Republic – American Nita Englund, 22, of Iron Mountain, Michigan secured a third-place finish at the FIS Cup Ladies Normal Hill Individual Competition in Frenstat, Czech. VISA  Women’s Ski Jumping Teammate Nina Lussi, 20, of Lake Placid, New York also had a strong showing, placing 5th in a field of 23 athletes from five countries. Englund soared 91.0 and 88.5 meters to earn 200.5 points and her podium finish. Lussi was close behind, jumping 90.5 and 85.5 meters in her two Saturday jumps and earning 187.5 points.

FALUN, Sweden – American Nina Lussi captured her first career Continental Cup (COC) win Saturday in Falun, Sweden, where next year athletes from around the world will descend for the 2015 World Nordic Ski Championships. Lussi backed-up the win with a 2nd-place finish on Sunday, followed by teammate Nita Englund, who claimed her first COC podium finish. Lussi came to Falun looking to build on the success of her 5th and 6th place finishes in Lahti, Finland, in mid-February.

Lussi, Anderson heading to Junior World Championships

PARK CITY, Utah — Nina Lussi and Emilee Anderson will represent the U.S. in the 2014 Junior World Ski Jumping Championships this month in Val di Fiemme, Italy.

This will mark Lussi’s 6th appearance since 2009 at Junior Worlds and it will be Anderson’s second. Lussi and Anderson are both up-and-coming athletes on the Visa Women’s Ski Jumping Team. The individual women’s event will take place Tuesday, Jan. 28.
